Bosnia's Election Commission Ousts Dodik
During a session conducted in Sarajevo, the commission unanimously endorsed the dismissal of Dodik from his post after the Appeals Panel of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Court confirmed his one-year incarceration and a six-year prohibition from occupying public office.
This ruling reaffirmed a prior decision made in February, wherein Dodik was adjudicated culpable for disobeying the directives issued by the Office of the High Representative.
Legal representatives for Dodik indicated that the resolution by the CEC could be challenged, with intentions to escalate the matter to the Constitutional Court.
In the interim, an expedited election in Republika Srpska is required to be organized within a 90-day timeframe after the conclusion of the appeals window.
Dodik publicly rejected the verdict via X, declaring that it would be the "last thing" Sarajevo does to him.
